SAP Business One V8.82 includes new functionality which allows you to create, maintain, and analyse your marketing event information using the campaign management function. You can manage a promotional campaign by:
  • Creating and maintaining target groups
  • Creating a campaign using the Campaign Generation Wizard
  • Managing the campaign data
  • Generating leads and sales opportunities directly from a campaign
  • Analysing campaigns based on the Campaign List report

This is found within Business Partners > Campaign Generation Wizard (NB. you must have the appropriate authorisations enabled to view/use this function)

To create target groups for single or multiple campaigns that can also include external contacts (these do not have to be set up as a BP record in SAP) go to:

Admin > Setup > Business Partner > target Groups

Create new Target Group and double-click on row to add BPs; use Import button to import external contacts (the file must be saved as .txt with column headers removed).

Use Campaign Wizard (in Business Partner module) to generate outputs.  Choose campaign type (Mail, Phone, Fax, eMail, or URL), target group, Items related to the campaign, whether to create Activity (new type ‘Campaign’) for each recipient for later follow-up (does not create Activity for imported contacts), and template (.htm file).  The user can edit the resulting communication before sending, and for eMails, the bcc list is populated with each recipient’s email address.

For each Wizard run, a Campaign is created which is managed from separate menu option.  Update Campaign to indicate whether a response was received from each recipient, and to link to Sales opportunities created based on this campaign.  (can quick create Sales opp for existing BPs and can quick create BP for external contacts from Sales Opportunity column).  Attachments tab shows example of resulting communication.  New Campaigns List BP report to analyse results of campaign.
