When a pack (or box) containing multiple single items needs to be split down to issue the individual items to stock, the following process should be applied within SAP:

  • Go to Production module
  • Click on 'Production Order'
  • In the production order screen, set the following parameters within the page header

Type = Disassembly

Status = Planned

Product No. = enter the item code of the pack or box

Planned Qty = specify the quantity of packs or boxes to be split down (this will default to 1 unless otherwise specified)

Warehouse = 01 (this is the default unless otherwise specified)

Due Date = enter the required date for the work to be completed

  • Under the 'Components' tab, in the field titled 'Item No.' enter the item code of the single items to be issued in to stock. Amend the quantity to the number of single items to be added to stock.
  • Click on 'Add'. The production order will then be printed automatically.

  • When you wish to issue the production order to stores, the 'Status' of the production order should be updated to 'Released' and then updated.
  • Once the item has been disassembled by stores and the production order has been returned, return to the Production module.
  • Click on 'Issue For Production'

  • Either click on 'Disassembly Order' (bottom right) and choose the production order to be receipted in to stock from the list, or in the 'Contents' tab in the 'Order No.' field, manually type the production order number to be receipted.
  • Click on 'Add
  • The system will then present the following message to confirm that the transaction is about to be added. Click on 'Yes' if you wish to complete the transaction.

    The stock will now be changed to show that 1 pack has been removed from stock and the single items have been added to stock.
